- The Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club (SCCC) and the Sharjah International Chess Academy (SICA) are pleased to announce the International Chess Day 2024-Sharjah, which will be held over-the-board, on July 20th at 17:00.
- Participation-Registration
- Participation is open for everyone.
- All Participants must have issued a FIDE-ID.
Registrations will be accepted only via the following link: https://sharjahchess.ae/register.
- The deadline will be on July 19th (20:00).
- Entry Fees
○ SCCC & SICA & Al Thiqah: AED 0.
○ Sharjah Clubs (UAE Citizens): AED 0.
○ Rated and Un-rated Players: AED 50.
- All Entry Fees must be pre-paid by payment link will send it by email.
- Limitation of Participation will be on 200
- Registered Participants who will withdraw without valid reason(s) at any stage (even before the 1st Round), will not be allowed to participate in future events of SCCC & SICA.
- Data
- Swiss System Tournament of seven (9) rounds. will be FIDE-Rated (FIDE Blitz Rating List).
- The playing venue will be the in the premises of the SCCC & SICA.
- The tournament will be held by a total of Five (5) minutes + 3 second
- The drawing of lots (Pairings) will be made after the end of each round.
- Scoring System & Tie-Breaks
- Point system will be in force as the first scoring criteria:
○ 1 for a win ○ ½ for a draw. ○ 0 for a loss.
- The tie-break criteria will be (by order):
○ Direct Encounter. ○ Buchholz-cut1. ○ Buchholz-cut2.
○ Highest Number of Wins with black (played). ○ Rating Performance.

- Winners are obliged to attend the Closing Ceremony to receive awards & prizes.
