Prospectus
The Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club (SCCC) and the Sharjah International Chess Academy (SICA) are pleased to announce the Flag Day 2023 Blitz Tournament, which will be held over-the-board, November 4th, 2023.
Entry Fees & Participation
All Entry Fees must be pre-paid (we dont accept Cash any more ) before the 1st round, in the Confirmation Desk.
● All Participants are obliged to re-confirm their participation on 04.11.2023, from 15:00 to 15:45, in the Confirmation Desk. Otherwise,
they will be excluded from the 1st Round.
● Limitation of Participation will be on 250 Participants.
● Registered Participants who will withdraw without valid reason(s) at any stage (even before the 1st Round), will not be allowed to participate in future events of SCCC & SICA.

Scoring System & Tie-Breaks
● Point system will be in force as the first scoring criteria:
○ 1 for a win. ○ ½ for a draw. ○ 0 for a loss.
● The tie-break criteria will be (by order):
○ Direct Encounter.
○ Buchholz-cut1.
○ Buchholz-cut2.
○ Highest Number of Wins with black (played).
○ Rating Performance.
● Winners are obliged to attend the Closing
